8th April 2010

The harvest of our 2010 is now completed and produced some superb fruit. In contrast to other winegrowing areas around New Zealand the especially dry summer in Northland will result in a very special vintage for the region. Our Pinot Gris is looking superb in the tank, and we also harvested some very nice Tannat, Syrah and Cabernet Franc.

We were pleased about our latest medals in the 2010 Royal Easter Show competition – a silver for our 09 Viognier and a bronze for the 09 Pinot Gris and it has been great to receive recognition in the media for leading the way in Northland.

Tony and Leah Willing shift in to their new house on Lot 24 next week with Cranston Bousfield and Deb Warren due to start construction on Lot 18 in a few weeks.

14th January 2010

In the vineyard after a colder than usual spring the Il Nino weather pattern has brought a very dry summer as harvest approaches. As a result a smaller yield of very high quality grapes is anticipated from this year’s vintage. In the meantime the contractors have been busy with Tony and Leah Willing’s house on Lot 24 now closed in with completion anticipated for March and earthworks being undertaken by Ivan Turner Contractors on 3 other sites.
