Tasting Notes

2008 Rose

Style

Medium bodied dry

Winemaking

After hand harvesting, the grapes were crushed and pumped into drainer tanks and cold macerated for a 48 hour period on the skins. After pressing, the coloured juice was clarified and then racked to tank for fermentation. To preserve the natural fruit flavours, cold fermentation and neutral yeasts were employed. The wine was then lightly fined and filtered to bottle.
Alcohol: 11.7%

WinemakingWinemaker’s Notes

Produced from a trial parcel of Syrah, this wine has an attractive berry fruit bouquet laced with a hint of white pepper. It is medium-bodied with lingering strawberry flavours and finished in a dryer style making it great summer drinking.

Food Pairings

2009 Pinot Gris

Style

Full bodied aromatic medium dry white

Winemaking

After hand harvesting, the grapes were quickly and gently whole bunch pressed to produce a rich, fruit-driven wine without phenolic bitterness. The juice was settled for 36 hours then racked to tank for fermentation. To preserve the natural fruit flavours, cold fermentation and neutral yeasts were employed. The wine was then lightly fined and filtered to bottle.
Alcohol: 13.5%

Winemaker’s Notes

Nashi pear, apple strudel and spice aromas lead into a strikingly full and flavoursome palate showing ripe pear, stone fruit and cinnamon. The richness is complemented by a luscious and harmonious finish reflecting the vintage’s lower yield.
Food Pairings
White meats, Asian-style foods, fish, pasta, salads, cheese, desserts featuring apples or pears

Alcohol: 14.5%

Winemaker’s Notes

Aromas of white peach, honey and spice dominate the bouquet. On the palate it is powerfully concentrated with nutty and fleshy fruit flavours. It is a wine that is rich, full and soft in texture with many exotic nuances, a reflection of the very low yield.
